Benefits of Membership

Save more than the cost of your membership

NC Services for Dentistry was formed by the NC Dental Society to use the collective buying power of members to access better rates and programs.  Each service has been researched and reviewed to help you reduce costs and improve your investments.

Ensure NC remains a great place to practice

With your support, we successfully developed and passed the Dental Bill of Rights, some of the most sweeping dental legislation in the nation. It’s aimed at protecting you, your staff and your patients from unfair insurance practices.

Easily keep your career on track

Job seekers can search postings for free, upload their anonymous resume, get alerts based on specific criteria and even get free feedback on resumes. Those looking to hire can now reach NC’s dentists directly. Choose from a variety of options to get your opening listed and noticed. Plus, you can search our resume bank to see the qualifications of those who are in the market for a new opportunity.

Unique CE Opportunities

The NC Dental Society helps you start your career on the right foot with a day-long CE course, Professionalism for New Dentists. Required by the NC State Board of Dental Examiners during your first year of licensure (if you’re going to actively practice in NC), this course prepares you with sessions on coding and billing; ethics and professional code of conduct; professional boundaries; record keeping and informed consent; and delegable duties.

Find and retain more patients

  • Find-a-Dentist: upload information about you and your practice to findadentist.ada.org. Patients can search for a dentist by location, specialty, insurance applied. Just this year alone, nearly 70,000 North Carolinians have searched the ADA’s Find-a-Dentist site more than 102,000 times. The ADA and NCDS has public relations and marketing teams working to drive people to this site as well as educating the public on the importance of good oral health.
  • NCDS In-House Membership Plan: powered by Dental HQ, helps you attract fee-for service patients without insurance and get them to return on a regular schedule. This software-based program puts you in charge. You set your fees. You decide what services will be covered under the plan and you easily customize patient-facing materials with your logo and office info. Research shows people who are on in-house membership plans cancel less than 5 percent of the time.

Never Practice Alone

Members of the NC Dental Society have many ways to connect and collaborate with like-minded people across the state. Join the conversation on NC Dental Connect, our online community (connect.ncdental.org). If you prefer to meet face-to-face, we offer plenty of opportunities to network. This year, the NC Dental Society hosted several social events, such as: a night at the Durham Bulls, Fundraising events to benefit the Foundation at area breweries, and “painting parties” where members could socialize, enjoy some drinks and appetizers and help paint a mural that will be donated to an NC children’s hospital.

Give back to your community

Our Missions of Mercy (MOM) clinics give you a chance to serve the people in North Carolina who desperately need care but can’t afford it. Our Give Kids a Smile effort helps you bring care and education to underserved children in our state. And, our USO of NC Dental Supply Drive, which is in its fourth year, helps you make an impact with the servicemen and women through North Carolina by providing them with oral care essentials such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss and sugar-free gum.
